Why Shaggy Cow, you may ask?
We needed to rebrand, long story, and once we got used to the idea we got excited for the changes to come. We tossed around a bucket full of ideas, and one friend, who knows my love for these Highland cows, said “something creative and catchy like Shaggy Cow Bookkeeping.” We laughed. A LOT. Over the next few weeks, nothing else stuck and we kept coming back to the Shaggy Cow. So I decided to be trendy and ask AI what the greatest qualities of the Highland cow are. She told us this:
“Some of their great qualities include their ability to thrive in harsh weather conditions, their low maintenance requirements, their efficiency in converting rough forage into meat, and their adaptability to different environments.”
Well, that just seems to fit us to a T: we thrive, we don’t ask more of you than we need, we convert your cluster of info into helpful data [the meat of it all!], and we adapt. We adapt very well. Plus we are a little creative and catchy! And since it was like the greatest earworm ever and wouldn’t leave us alone, it stuck, and here we are! You will still find us at all the same places [web, social, email] it will now point to the new name. And if you’re new here, we look forward to giving you a Shaggy Cow welcome!
Why we do what we do!
When I was a child I would make cash registers out of cardboard boxes. I wanted to push those buttons and count the money. When I was ten I wanted to own a bank. When I was in college I had a part-time retail job that I turned into a full-time job taking care of the money, the bookkeeping, and all the back-end paperwork and operations. Just because I asked and I knew I could do it. And I WANTED to do it!
Every job I have held involved money, bookkeeping, or operations in some way.
This is fun. This is the play. This is the puzzle that challenges my brain and gives me amazing satisfaction and pride when it's solved.
Whether you want us to teach you to do your own or hire us to organize & maintain the bookkeeping, just know that you are hiring a small team who are following our dreams so you can follow yours.
Let's make some magic and have some fun!
-Tiersa
You can always call me "T"! Tiersa is pronounced like a tier on a cake. My parents are Mike and Sue so they decided their kids needed to have less common names. :).
